Summer Term 1
April 2026
Last week in Cherry class, we enjoyed a trip on Friday where we spent the day learning about different foods and how to be safe in the kitchen. To top it off, we got to make pizza!

This week has been incredibly busy and exciting! Year 1 have been learning all about different occupations, and we’ve already had some amazing experiences. We enjoyed cuddles with a guinea pig brought in by a vet, listened to extracts from a novel read by a visiting author, and explored a real police car with a police officer. To top it all off, athlete Courtney Orange visited us to share his achievements and teach us some of his skills. We’re really looking forward to meeting the rest of our visitors later this week!
Cherry Class this week, we have been very busy as it has been Aspirations Week. We have learned about many different jobs and the skills we might need if we choose to do them in the future. We have also met a variety of people who do a wide range of jobs. In the classroom, we have been role-playing as teachers, as well as pilots and cabin crew, going on adventures to different countries. All of the children have worked extremely hard and have gained a valuable insight into the world of work.

Maple class rounded off aspirations week with a visit from the paramedics. The paramedics were fantastic all of the children were able to go inside the ambulance and have their blood pressure taken. They really enjoyed the visit!
