Admissions & Starting at The Avenue
This section is aimed at parents/carers of children due to start in Reception in September or children joining us throughout the year in any year group. We hope that you might find this information helpful in answering any questions you may have regarding your child starting school and help in preparing your child for their transition to school. The Avenue Infant School is a very popular school amongst families, is oversubscribed and has waiting lists for each year group. If you would like your child to join The Avenue Infant School family please read the information below according to your circumstance - either if your child is due to start school in Reception or if it is an in-year transfer.
We hold a series of structured school tours for parents and carers applying for a Reception place for their child throughout the Autumn Term of each academic year. These are publicly advertised and places must be booked.

In-year transfer places
Moving to a different school at any time other than the usual admission to Reception class is known as an 'in-year transfer'.

The school's admissions arrangements are dealt with through North Northamptonshire Council. At this school, the number to be admitted in Reception in September each year is 60. If more children than this want to be admitted the Local Authority apply the over subscription admission criteria. For further information see Applying for a School Place.
