Autumn Term 2 - What is it like to live in Kenya?

This term's topic enquiry question is 'What is it like to live in Kenya?' 

Our book corner has been transformed into a reading safari area for the children to explore.

We will be learning about the similarities and differences between Africa and our local area. 

Our key text is The Mango That Spoke.

Hazel Class have been creating African sunsets using watercolours today to kickstart their new topic. 🎨

 

Hazel Class have started story mapping The Mango That Spoke. 

 

Hazel Class were thinking about times that they had shown an act of kindness or when someone else has been kind to them. We’ve displayed their thoughts in the classroom. #ColourOurWorldWithKindness #AntiBullyingWeek

Hazel Class went on a character hunt to gather ideas for their own story.

  

Hazel class have loved dressing up and raising money for Children in Need.

Hazel Class had a go at telling their own versions of The Mango That Spoke using story telling capes.

 

 We had a visitor in to enrich our PSHE curriculum offer, exploring emotions and feelings.

Year 2 have had a fabulous last day of term spending their Avenue pounds, eating their party food and enjoying their cinematic experience! Happy Christmas. 🎄
