Friends of The Avenue School (FOTAS) is a small dedicated fundraising team comprising of parents and carers whose children attend our school and staff. We organise fun activities within school for the children and their families. All of these events help raise extra funds to pay for a whole range of equipment and experiences to enhance the children’s educational experience.
FOTAS organise events throughout the year such as popcorn nights, Christmas and Summer Fairs and so much more. They are always glad of people to help them with organising these events as well as setting up and packing away. If you are interested in becoming a part of the team, please speak to the office. FOTAS annually fundraise to purchase the Year 2 leaving presents and subsidise all year group trips, the remaining money raised is spent in different ways but our priority is always to enhance the educational and recreational facilities for our children.
However much time you can offer to FOTAS we will be very pleased to welcome you!
Recently we have raised funds to help develop the playground and we are delighted with how fabulous it now looks and how much fun the children are having riding on the bike track, sitting and talking in the quiet corner and performing on the stage. We have more exciting plans and all funds raised continue to really benefit our children.
PLAYGROUND PROJECT COMPLETED SUMMER 2019
OUR NEXT FUNDRAISING PROJECT IS.......
Our next big project is to transform our school library. As you will know, reading is key in developing children’s learning and we want to create a warm, inviting and practical space that harbours a love of reading and books. For this project to take place, we need to raise approximately £10,000…a huge amount! Unfortunately, due to the current Covid restrictions, we are going to have to change the way we fundraise for the foreseeable future. It will be even more vital that we get continued support from you as we look to find different ways to raise these funds for our school library. We are busy planning some future events that comply with both school and government guidelines
