If you are working with children, supervised or unsupervised you will be asked to produce your DBS certificate or details thereof, together with photographic proof of identification, ie passport or driving licence. Without this you may not be granted access.

Please return your visitor badge to the school office and sign out before you leave.

IT and Internet Access

If you require Internet access for your visit please ask the school office who will provide you with the login details for visitors.

Visitors are prohibited from taking photographs whilst on the school site.

Fire and Evacuation

The fire alarm is a continuous bell. On hearing the alarm, you must leave the building by the nearest exit. The assembly points are located in the front playground, ensuring that you are recorded by the administration staff.

Do not take any personal risks, and you must not re-enter the building until told to do so.

See below for the plan for possible fire exits and assembly points.

Health and Safety

Contractors must ensure that they are fully conversant with the safety rules and regulations to be observed by contractors working on site.

As a visitor to our school, it is essential that you follow any health and safety guidelines that may apply. By doing so, you will assist us in meeting the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

The Avenue Infant School operates a no-smoking policy. Please do not smoke anywhere on the school site.

There is no on-site parking at The Avenue Infant School for staff and visitors. Please park safely on the roads surrounding the school, ensuring that you do not block any of our local residents' driveways or paths.
